Proactive Recruiting Strategies

Unless you are an All-World player as an underclassman, you are going to fly under the recruiting radar as a relative unknown. Even schools with massive recruiting budgets have trouble staying ahead of the game in terms of finding talent outside their demographic. People forget these coaches are there to WIN football games. They spend a tremendous amount of time COACHING their current players.

Consumers tend to buy products that are heavily marketed and readily available. This is how YOU need to treat the recruiting circuit. Do not wait for coaches to contact you via email and calls. Contact them! Draft a professional letter, search their school directory and find their contact information. Simply tell them that you’re interested in continuing your education and football career at their institution.

Your letter will produce 1 of these Results:

1. They don’t respond at all.

2. They respond telling you that they’re not interested

3. They respond asking for more information

This can be a humbling experience for many, but it’s a real world experience. If you need help drafting a recruiting “proposal” letter I’ll be having FREE phone consultations Monday May 7th from 9am-1pm call 201-767-1305 to reserve a time slot.
