Hey everyone, so today is the first look inside my training leading up to the Dec, 1st Competition. Monday I continued my progression with the axle push press with one red band on each side. When I work my overhead press I like to change it up from a strict press (no leg drive), push press (one knee bend and one continuous motion), and a push jerk (double knee bend which is seen in most Olympic lifts).
On Monday I was hitting triples with this exercise and I worked up to my last 2 sets with 263 on the bar. Having the band on the axle overloads the triceps at the top part of the motion. After I finished with that I continued my progression on my Barbell rows from the ground. I was doing 4x5 and my last 2 sets I worked up to 325.
On Wednesday I was looking to hit a single on the Safety Bar Box Squat at a box height of 12inches which is slightly below parallel for me. I hit 4 sets of singles with my last set being 505. Next I had to do some Barbell Romanian Deadlifts for 2x6 and did both sets at 455. Today I will be Barbell floor pressing and doing a Westside version of volume where I will pick a weight and do a Dumbbell flat bench on a stability ball for 2 minutes straight.
Take a look at the video below to view some of the lifts and be sure to check back next week where I will be one week out from the competition. Until then, keep lifting hard, and Remember The Only Way, Is All The Way!!!
